LOL I am finishing my doctorate, and I think usually the curriculum vitae is more detailed than a one page resume--for a teaching position that would include any journal articles published, conferences where you were a speaker, etc. Mine is a full page resume and then a page of published articles and conferences.

Re: a little embarrassed but what does this mean??
Here's a definition I found online:
Definition: A detailed, lengthy and structured listing of education, publications, projects, awards and work history. A curriculum vitae for a mid-career candidate may be as long as twenty pages. Employer Rating: Rather than a resume, a curriculum vitae (often called a "C.V." or "Vita") is required for certain positions: educators and scientists most commonly.
It depends on what other applicants they get. I work in a college now and usually the education, social science, and business classes get the most applicants for adjunct positions. It's worth a shot. If you're thinking of a tenure track position eventually, I would recommend getting a doctorate and getting some articles published.

CV is the term that is used more often in Europe as well. All of my cousins say CV and not resume'.

My CV is much more detailed than my resume. It is about 5 pages long, with a lot of detail about my experiences, rather than abbreviated descriptions. It also includes publications, organizations in which I'm involved, honors I've received, etc.
