a little nervous..Puppy sitting starting Wednesday

well....I am nervous and excited

we are watching my boyfriends cousins puppy- a 15lb pit (who is a complete mush- they have a 18 month old baby and the dog is great)

but I am worried about my "babies"

I have 2 cats- Pokey- a 10 year persian cat that regularly sees other dogs at the grommer and loves them- he is very motherly for a male cat- he raised Maggie as if it was his kitten and he was the mommy

that brings to Maggie- she is almost 3 and saw a dog once and freaked out

I really hope they all get along b/c if they don't - then I am going to have to rethink getting a puppy in the near future

any advice?

Maybe try taking the cat and the dog out together once the dog has been in your apartment for alittle and calm down from excitment. maybe hold the cat and let the dog sniff her?

So far pokey is hiding

And maggie is stalking

It's going to be a long week

Good luck. I think they'll all adjust to each other, but you never know.

We just got a puppy on saturday and it's exhausting, but we love her.

awww! i would make sure you don't leave them alone w/ each other unsupervised. block the dog into the bedroom or somewhere the cats can't get to if you're going out. other than that, as long as no one's attacking anyone, i'd wait for them to just settle in :)

ooo what kind of puppy? congrats! we lived in the city when my boy was a puppy. let me tell you...the 3am pee breaks nearly killed us!

We are just watching her- she is a 14 week pit and so cute

Such a mushball

She is more scared then the cats!

She goes in her crate when we aren't there- and today maggie went right up to the crate

She just wants to play! I hope when I take her for a walk tonight some of the other puppies in the building are out- there is a 4 month boxer she would love

She was so funny this morning when I went to take her out- I had to drag her down the stairs and then she peed right outside the front door....
