a lot of people all over the world think americans are faith-less....
... but have you seen how many people in NEW YORK CITY (supposedly a place where religion is dead) want to see the Pope?
i'm not catholic (any more), but it warms my heart to see how faith is such a big part of so many american's lives.

I think that there is a difference between having faith and having religion, but the two seem to be intertwined in most people's eyes.
ETA: Sometimes they do go together, and sometimes they don't.

I absolutely believe that New Yorkers do have faith and religion. Perhaps the idea of separation of church and state makes Americans to appear faithless but I don't believe that we are. Not everyone who came out to see the Pope in NY is from NY, though. The school I attended in Pittsburgh landed press passes for some journalism students and they went to DC and NY. I am proud. Many media people were denied press passes and no other colleges got them.
