A pajama question...
I'm full of questions tonight - haven't been on in a few days 
Do you put your DC's pj's on RIGHT before bed or let them hang out in them for a while (an hour or so) before putting them to bed? I read that you should put their pj's on right before putting them down for the night to kind of make it "official" that they are going to bed, but I hate keeping James in his "day clothes" until right before bed.
I hope this made sense....

Ive always put them on her about 45 min before bed. she has never had any sleep issues so I think its fine. She knows its "unwinding time" once shes in pjs.

Right after her bath/before her last bottle, so about 30 minutes before bed.

yup-- this is the first step in the bedtime routine. I actually don't even like to take her out of her room once the pjs are on. I put on the noise machine, dim the lights-- ya know, set the mood.

The pajamas go on right after the bath, and then it's up to bed.
But she's in various stages of undress once she gets home....usually the socks or tights come off, then the pants....

I do the bathing routine, and then PJ's, and about an 1/2 hour later BED....
I didn't know about making it "official"...thanks for sharing!

cant all the reading make ya nuts? I have read so many books already and w/ each one, you get a different theory or suggestion.
Im obv not up to this point w/ my DS but i would say i think its FINE to do pjs alittle before bed. I know most of my friends do. Like you said, otherwise theyre in their street clothes (lol) all day

i put ds in his pjs only right before he's supposed to sleep. except tonight cause he spit up around 6ish and i didnt want him sitting in it and didnt wanna waste another outfit for just a few hours of wearing

Gianna finishes dinner around 6:30, then I wash the dishes and give her a bath. After that, I put her feetie pajamas on, and we play for an hour or so in her room. She has her last bottle at exactly 8:30pm every night, and she dozes off in my arms for bed. I put her in her crib at 9:oo and she's finished for the night.
Do what's comfortable for you. Work around James' routine. If you feel like changing him after dinner, then do it. I personally change into "comfy" clothes as soon as humanly possible after work (that is, as long as I have no where to go after work). Think of how comfy it is for you to just kick back and relax. I apply the same theory to Gianna. She's so much more relaxed when she's in her comfy clothes.

This is us too, though lately now that they are crawling around and playing-we sometiimes do let them play about 1/2 hr between bath and bottle(then bed)

PJs are part of the bedtime routine, so they do not hang out in them except for having their bottle and story time.

if it's a bath night, I put them on right after the bath and then we do the whole ebdtime routine - bottle, book and cuddle :) If it is not a bath night then I put them on right before the routine. So basically always right before bed. Tommy knows it's bedtime when the PJs go on!
