A prayer request for Joshua Haskins--please pray as hard as you can - UPDATE
I am not extremely spiritual, but this little boy has taught me to pray in ways I never thought I would (or could)...
My friend Jill's son was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Basically, only one side of his heart functions well enough to sustain life. He had his first heart surgery @ 2 weeks to place a shunt in his heart, and his 2nd surgery this past Tuesday to replace the shunt (which was thought to be too big for him) to the next smallest size.
Everything was looking great...until Joshua crashed and turned blue last night.
This little guy is just 7 weeks old, and he needs all the prayers we can possibly rain down upon him. His mom is an absolute inspiration to me...she leaves it all in the hands of God, and has told me that if Joshua should leave this earth, she will be devastated but will take comfort in knowing that Jesus had bigger plans for him. As someone with a DS who is just 3 weeks older than Joshua, I can't even imagine having that kind of selfless attitude about all of this. Because of her faith in God, she trusts that Joshua will have life, whether here or with his maker.
Jill is starting to feel desperate this morning...they have had to intubate Joshua for the 5th time in his short 7-week stay on this earth. She is trying to keep the faith but is needing support from as many people as we can find.
I know that *I* am starting to believe in the power of prayer, so I hope you will take a few moments out of your day to pray for this little man. We need for him to pull through this

Update, 10/6/10
It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you all that little Joshua passed away today. His little body finally just gave out.
Thank you all so much for your prayers--he is at home in his savior's arms now

I am very spiritual and have a very close relationship with God. I have many testimonies of my own and of friends that the power of prayer does work and I am praying soooooo hard for your friends baby tonight. Please keep us posted bc my heart is aching for this poor mom and baby but I have faith that is will work out and a miracle is awaiting him

I'm in tears reading your update. I'm so sorry for you and Joshua's family for the loss of that precious little angel.
