A question about spoiling
I know we all worry about "spoiling" our child. Isn't there a difference between loving and holding them and actually raising a "spoiled child"? Just curious.

Re: A question about spoiling
I don't think that you can spoil a child with love and meeting their NEEDS as a baby. Meeting their demands for material things, that's spoiling in my opinion. Not loving them and holding them and caring for them.

ITA with this. Buying the latest and most expensive things or whatever is "spoiling" in my opinion. Holding and cuddling and meeting your child's emotional needs, even if they seem like a lot, is NOT spoiling IMO.

Re: A question about spoiling
my dr said there is no such thing as too much love, attention, and affection...that the only place that is going to lead you to is the road to great parenting.
Spoiling is something different. I don't mind being around a high maintance cuddle bunny....a spoiled brat though? I am out the door. I think spoiling a child is the easy way out. Giving in to them and not parenting fully.
But to give in to an infant who wants to be held/rocked all the time is hard work.

Holding and cuddling isn't spoiling. Giving them 10 ice creams in a day because they want it is.
