A question about switching jobs
Have any of you just got so burnt, complacent, and "whatever" about the job you are at, that you knew you had to change?
Then, if you took a new job, did your energy and enthusiasm come back? At this point, I feel like my fire is just out, and I'm afraid it won't be lit again... I start my new job at the end of March...
I need encouragement and need to know that I will get passionate again - the way I used to be about my job...

You will be. It happened to me before then I started my new job--and I love it!!!! Once you start the new job--the thrill of something "new" will get to you. Good luck! Keep your head up!

Re: A question about switching jobs
I worked on Wall Street for about ten years. This summer (August '07) I left b/c I was burned out and b/c I started my own business that fulfilled me like nothing else would.
However, I did not want to "lose" my head and passion (b/c I still have it for finance) and got a consulting position (less stress/hours/laid-back environment.) The consulting position is completely different (I went from trading to recruiting for trading positions) but I still have the drive.
