A question I have to ask about Viacord......
If you sign up for this, and God forbid, you lose your child before birth, what happens? Is the contract void? Does it apply to your first born, whenever?

I would be shocked if you owed any money. They don't do any work in advance to prepare for you, so there is no cost on their side before the baby is born.

I would think that you don't owe - since they are not picking up any samples nor storing any.
Also, sometimes doctors cannot get blood from the cord - i would think you wouldn't owe at that point either - but no first hand knowledge.

You put a deposit before the baby is born - when you sign up. You have up until 48 hours after the birth, I believe, to void the deposit. The deposit is just your credit card number - they do not take any money out. so, the 48 hours is just to let them know not to charge your credit card... I am sure the reason for it is if in case anything does happen at all, you have an out....
