Re: A really good self tanner? Do they exist?
I just discovered this and of all the ones I've tried (and there have been a LOT lol), this one have been the best. I think I might even say I love it!
You get an instant bit of color (enough to take the pale glow off my legs so I can go out in public with them) and it gets a little bit darker over the day. You can build on it if you want to go darker. It doesn't completely fade away after swimming in a pool and it doesn't have any odor. The only down side is that it instantly colors your hands too - but I find that if I put a little moisturizer on my hands first to kind of act like a barrier it helps. And then I gently scrub my hands with a loofah type thing it comes off pretty easily.
ETA: It also dries just about instantly - so you can put it on and go!

The St. Tropez Self Tanner is SO good. I've used it for several weddings including my own.

Re: A really good self tanner? Do they exist?
For me it's not so much about the self tanner but the application. How do you get it on evenly? How do you reach your back, etc?
The only time a self tan ever looks good on me is when I get a spray tan.

I really just use it on my legs - they are so pale and never get color, or just get blotchy sunburn patches, even if I am out in the sun (with sunscreen). My arms get a little color, even when I put on sunscreen and aren't so hideously pale like my legs - which are an embarrassment and not fit for public viewing because they are so pale. The instant tanner I posted above works great to take the edge off and it's easy enough to cover all of my legs without missing any spots.

Re: A really good self tanner? Do they exist?
I ordered the rodan and fields tanner and was disappointed. I had streaks in areas and although the color does look nice when it develops, when it fades my skin looked dirty...hard to describe. It has a nice smell and dries quickly which was good but I won't use it again.
I use the sally Hansen spray for a night out and need some leg color! lol. Love that stuff

That for legs, is the best. I use the lotion version. I love it because it's not a self tanner, but a "leg makeup" When I use self tanner on my legs I feel like it just highlights all my hair follices, etc and just looks dirty- the Sally Hansen Air Brush legs really COVERS everything. Hair follicles, pores, spider veins, etc
It's amazing. Makes your legs look like a Barbie doll. LOL

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with it. I just wanted to mention in case it was recent that all our products include a full 60-day money back guarantee, even if the product is empty. So if you were unhappy with it, definitely call corporate and send it back.

I appreciate the advice! I didn't ask for a refund because my friend sells it and I didn't want her to lose $$. I am sure it's a great self tanner for most...I think I don't do well with them in general because I'm pale and the tanner sits in my follicles and accentuates them. I end up looking dirty no matter what. My arms looked OK and I did love that it dried so quickly and smelled nice! I just won't use any tanners from now on..learned my lesson lol!! I was looking for a magic fix and hoped it was it. Lol

This is legit! They also sell a little foam/sponge mitt that is really great for keeping your hands clean and applying it easily. It is a world of difference from the drugstore brands, but I find it still smells pretty strong but the color is great.

I've been wanting to try this forever but I have visions of it rubbing off on my clothes, my couch, the seat of my car. Does it come off easily?

Yeah it does a bit. Others say it doesn't, but I do find it on the seats of my car, my bed sheets etc. It DOES wash out of clothes and sheets easily though. It doesn't leave a stain at all after washing
