a spinoff from my big girl bed post...toddler moms.

Toddler moms - are your kids like mine?

Talia is not even 2...she wants to sleep in a big girl bed, no more stroller for months now - she has to walk everywhere, and this week she also refuses to sit in the highchair - its all about the adult chairs for her...

I feel like it's too young to give all these things up - esp. all at once...and I'm exhausted!!!

She won't go in her stroller - instead, she wants to "push" her own stroller, or her doll stroller. She went on a highchair strike just last week, and will now only eat at her little miniature Ikea table and chairs.

She hasn't given up on her crib - in fact, she LOVES her crib. Just last night, we were playing around and at 7:30pm, her usual bedtime, she turned to me and said "mommy, paci, bed" Chat Icon

I'm DREADING the day we move to a big girl bed. Not so much because of exhaustion, but I think it will break MY heart Chat Icon

Jacob is almost like Talia.... He hates the stroller for months. If I go to the mall, i go to Broadway or Huntington because they have those cars strollers you can went and he will sit in those... He does not want to sit in the highchair, he wants to sit with us at the big table so I bought this:

Baby smart Cooshie booster seat and he loves it!!!

The good thing for us is he loves his crib.. i will keep him in there until the last possible minute...

Katherine is fine in her crib, which is great since I don't plan on switching her to a bed until she's closer to 3.

We just bought her the Cooshie booster too since she's going to have to give up the highchair for Abby shortly.

As far as the stroller......she HATES it...I think she always did. I could never go shopping with her alone--the mall?? Forget it! She likes to walk. I got the Sit and Stand stroller for the 2 of them and she likes the freedom of that one although sometimes I still have to wrestle with her to get her in the seat.

Honestly I don't give him any choices otherwise I would lose my mind.

He has never eaten anywhere but a high chair. He won't sit still for a second anywhere else. As for the stroller I always strap him in. He enjoys it as long as it is moving. He starts to get antsy when we stop for too long.

The only time I let him walk is when we are getting in and out of the car to go home or into a house.

Thank God he still loves his crib I plan on keeping him in there till he is three.

Good luck with the sleeping situation.Chat Icon

I'm right there with you...it's been MONTHS since DD has sat in her stroller. It kills me...I can't go anywhere with her anymore unless I'm prepared to run after her!
Her high chair has also been in the corner of the kitchen collecting dust for ages now!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yes! Except for the bed part, Julia still co-sleeps with us, but when we move into our new home she will be going into her own room and big girl bed, hopefully without any problems.....Chat Icon

She hates sitting in her stroller for long and would rather walk with us holding our hand. She likes to eat dinner at the table with us in a big chair instead of her highchair too! They just grow up to fast!Chat Icon
