Re: Please help...Ava will not stay in her "Big Girl" Bed...
Was she able to climb out of the crib? I think going backwards might not work, since now she knows about freedom. Why do you think she is leaving her bed? Is she refusing to go to bed at night or waking in the middle?
My son used to refuse to go to bed at night, and wanted the door opened when he slept. We told him that he had to stay in his bed to keep the door open. Everynight he got one warning, then the second time out of bed, we shut the door holding it shut and spoke to him from outside. AS soon as he was in bed. we opened the door. If he came out again the door stayed shut progressively longer. HE sobbed and it was hard, but we never shut the door more than twice in an evening. He was very fearful, so there have been many nights that I stay outside his door for a few minutes while he tries to sleep then I stay nearby. It does not sound like your daughter is fearful though.
Recently my son started crawling into our bed with us in the middle of the night and we have resorted to bribery. We keep a chart. When he sleeps in his bed 7 nights he gets to choose a movie to watch. (But then my son has seen few movies cause he is so fearful so he really wants to see some Disney Classics.)
Good luck.
