A teacher rave (come in if your child is starting kindergarten) - really sweet gesture that made me tear up
My DC starts kindergarten soon. On Monday. I'm rarely emotional but I'm kind of a wreck. I'm not ready for this.
The teacher gave all parents a little envelope that said "for you on your child's first day" (paraphrasing) and inside was tissues (for crying) and a bag of tea. And a little note that said (paraphrasing) something like we know u will be sad.. So heres some tissues..But I will take care of your child and they will have fun and here's some tea so you can make yourself a nice cup and relax and unwind".
i thought that was really nice and so sweet. Just a small gesture like that really touched me.
Just wanted to share. :)

Right? Such a small gesture that really meant the world. I know so many teachers feel under scrutiny but I had to share.. Because they really do have such an important and hard job and to do that AND think of parents in such a manner is so heartwarming.

I am right there with you! DS starts Monday and I'm a mess. But, this is a really sweet gesture from the teacher. DS's teacher called Tuesday and we had a nice chat. I thought that was sweet and helped me feel slightly more relaxed.

Very sweet, I will say especially now that I am a mom I look at my class so differently and always remember this quote: (Oh and btw my baby boy is ALSO starting K on Tues.)

I really wish I got to know more about or meet our teacher, but I hear she's great and hoping she is in good hands. Just feels so weird to send my child off and not know ANYTHING about what is going on that day.

I agree! Sounds like your LO will be in great hands!! That was such an awesome thing for the teacher to do!

Not to toot my own horn but what the hell, I'm a Kindergarten Teacher and I do something very similar. I have parents from 10 plus years ago who tell me that they still remember me doing it

That is so sweet. I'm dreading Monday too, I don't know how I'm going to put Emerson on that bus without having a breakdown. This is so hard. I don't know where the time has gone.  How is my baby 5 already??!!

My daughters kindergarten teacher gave us the same thing at meet the teacher night on Thursday. She made all the parents tear up. Very sweet.
