I just can't understand why she isn't submerged in that water. I had a late August baby, gained 50lbs and was miserable towards the end. The only relief I felt was in the pool. The weightless feeling in the water is amazing!

I have to admit that this is exactly what I looked like by 30 weeks.  I haven't even gained 23lbs, no swelling, but my stomach is huge and just scary looking. I just feel terrible that she was photographed like this for all to see and gawk at.
Nothing feels worse than comments like "ooh, soon, huh?" Or "you're ready to pop!" When in reality I had 10 weeks left....  poor thing.

I got huge, bigger than that, I have no stretch marks and lost the weight w my son and am getting there now w my daughter. Whatever, its sad that people have to criticize pregnant women,

I agree completely. I find it sad that people keep commenting on how she looks scary, painful, etc. I don't think she looks awful but I also think pregnant women are beautiful. Yeah, it can get uncomfortable but you're bringing a human into the world, what do you expect?
I also got huge (probably bigger than her) and didn't get a single stretch mark. I also didn't swell anywhere and could wear 4 inch heels even at the end. I missed my belly after I delivered both times.

Whether or not you get stretch marks is hereditary. It has to do with the elasticity of your skin. You can get huge and not get any, or carry teeny tiny and be covered in them.
That's why creams, etc don't work.
And I don't think anyone on this thread criticized her. I saw most sympathizing, saying how they know how bad that feels at the end and how uncomfy.

That is 100% right about the stretch marks, that was my point.
I guess I'm being sensitive because I had a huge belly like that. It seems like several poster had a tone implying she looks bad or gross . . . At the very least unattractive. I don't think anyone would take "I get sad and scared looking at her" as a compliment. I never thought I looked scary and would really hope people weren't looking at me thinking that.

I made it, not as a negative, some poster know I've been on the IF site. I do feel both emotions when I look at these pictures for many reasons. One because I don't think I'll ever experience growing a baby inside me, and two because she looks so uncomfortable. I have nothing to compare it to. part of me fears if I were pregnant what if I cant handle it...
I don't think I offended anyone with that comment since this board has no trouble saying so :) bit if did offend any past or present pregnant ladies I am sorry

its Ok, I honestly didn't think your statement was made with a tone etc. I wanted to explain, I should not assume all readers know where I was coming from.

I agree. I was extremely lucky. I got a few on my butt and a few on my boobs, but none on my stomach.
