A woman was robbed in the parking lot of Massapequa Mall
I don't go to this mall much, today I ended up at this mall.
I saw a police truck slowly riding up and down the lanes in the parking lot. I didn't think anything of it really.
Thought they were just patrolling...
I took my DS there just to play on the rides.
This evening, I found of from my mother that he saw on the news that a woman was robbed in the parking lot.
The robber wasn't caught.
Just letting everyone know to please be aware of your surroundings. Especially, if you're going to a mall with your children.

That's the closest mall to my house and it always makes me uneasy, regardless of time of day or time of year.
It's so desolate and I feel like there are a bunch of teens up to no good in there.

Sunrise Mall? (what use to be called Sunrise)
I grew up in Massapequa and spent so much of my adolescence at that mall. It had been nice for a while but I was there a few years ago when I was in the area and I couldn't believe how crappy it had gotten. Not the mall I remember as a teen.

I grew up in Massapequa and spent so much of my adolescence at that mall. It had been nice for a while but I was there a few years ago when I was in the area and I couldn't believe how crappy it had gotten. Not the mall I remember as a teen.
Yup, that's the one. FWIW, I've had a few police officers I know tell me to be careful because there's a lot of shady activity that goes on there.
I only go in there a handful of times a year, and it's really to just run into a place like Macy's and right back out.
It's a shame because this area really needs a decent shopping center, and that general area has the income/money to support it.

Tonight? Because last week there was a woman robbed at gunpoint at the Sunrise Mall. Is that the news story you are talking about or was there another robbery tonight?

It was today. I guess it happened again.

Woman stabbed, robbed in East Meadow Wal-Mart parking lot.
Police say a 42-year-old woman was confronted by a man as she put packages in her car at around 10:30 p.m. yesterday at Wal-Mart in East Meadow. The woman handed over her pocketbook, but police say the man then stabbed her in the arm. How can you protect yourself? Watch @News12LI
