abdominal retrieval..UPDATE!
So i had a n appt today with Dr.B....every time i have had a sono we have a battle bc my ovaries r in such a bad spot..
he does not want to hurt me but he has to get in there so he can see..so much fun
so today was painful,he warned me,it was fine ..he also did a external sono
he said to me Dr.Z who i guess does the retrieval,i have never met him lol..might want to see me before and maybe do a sono etc..
i said ok..he said not to worry bc he is the best and if there is a egg he will find it and he will really be able to look bc i will be out
but he says if he cannot see them he cannot get them out...so i said what happens if he cannot see them or get them out and then he said these scary words..abdominal retrieval..
has anyone been through this? i am scared i might have to do this...what kind of surgery is it
ETA.... well had doc appt today,everything looking good..retrieval is set for sunday or Monday so it got pushed back one day..i am going to the city tomorrow to meet with Dr.Z and then back to Dr.b Friday and will know def but after to speaking with Dr.B and Sandra today and after 2 sonos they think we are doing a abdominal retrieval...oh well! i know we will be fine..nothing is ever easy right

Idk what it is but you are out for it so you will be ok. My last soon before retrieval was brutal. The nurse was pushin on my stomach to ouch my ovaries in place. I was dying!! I wanted an epi.

Abdominal retrieval means they will be taken laproscopic(sp). A small incision is made slightly below the belly button. Once you awaken you will feel some cramping, and may be restricted from heavy lifting or bending for a week.

and i thought my ovaries and uterus were all over the place! Depending on who is doing the sono they usually have a very hard time finding my ovaries (before stims). Abdominal retrieval probably sounds alot more scary than what it is. I hope you dont have to do it though.....IF is never easy huh?

You'll be ok. Still happy that you can have a retrieval.

And here I am thinking I've seen and heard it all...good luck Gina. Some of us are just lucky to get to do it all. It will be worth it in the end. So I keep telling myself. Praying for lots of eggs for you.
Will you be doing a transfer now or will they freeze them for future use (and yes I'm being positive for you...sonograms suck...I mean really what can they see in there anyway...just some fuzz and static)?
