about DC's eating rice cereal

can you feed it to them 2x a day?

also, sorry another ?

Can you just feed them oatmeal instead or also b/c you just want to? or do you have to ask the ped.?

My DD isn't into the cereal so I don't know how often you could/should give it to them.

The nurse at my ped's office said they recommend starting w/rice because it's the most gentle on their systems of all the options. We started DD on 1 tbsp. rice ceral, and she got constipated. So I called, and they told me to switch to oatmeal, which has been much better on her.

I switched between the rice and oatmeal cereal after I made sure he didn't have a reaction to either. I also fed it to DS up to 3 times a day, but not that much. DS woulnd't eat the veggies unless I mixed it.

We started rice cereal at 3 1/2 months once a day and then once he turned 4 months, we had it for breakfast and dinner. Once he ate it with no problems for a week, we moved to oatmeal then barley.

we waited until 6 months to start. i started with oatmeal, ped recommended that, since db was only havign poopy diapers once every few days or so to start with. i started with 2 tablespoons, once a day. now at 6.5 months, we are up to 4 tablespoons twice a day, along with half a jar of stage one fruit or veggie.
