?? about pads & also BTDT mom ??

i'm about to go shopping for things to go in my hospital bag and i figured i might as well stock up on some pads since i'll be needing alot of them and don't have any. i've never been a pads type of gal. i always had extremely heavy periods and i felt like i was wearing diapers when wearing super heavy pads so i stuck with tampons. what type of pads do you ladies like that's super heavy that won't make me feel like i'm wearing a diaper and i won't bleed through every half hour.

for the BTDT girls, is there any "after care" items i should pick up besides pads? not just for vajay jay but for recovery in general. thanks!!

I know what you mean. I haven't worn a pad since I was around 16 years old, so when I went to the store to pick them up, I stood there for like 10 mins just trying to decide which ones to get. lol
I just went for the biggest pads I could find. Chat Icon

I took A TON from the hospital (but I was lucky too and din't have that much bleeding after the first week, I spotted mostly until 3 weeks PP).

Once I ran out of the hospital ones, I used the Always overnights because they are thick and just as important..long. But during my real heavy bleeding, I doubled up the pads (this is what they showed me to do in the hospital). Not only do you

I used the Kotex ones the last time and they worked fine - I hate pads but you have no choice in this one. The hospital ones were awful as they were not the stick on ones but had some type of loop system that did not work so I would bring your own just in case.

I bled for about 6 weeks and the first couple of weeks pretty heavy Chat Icon

I think I used Kotex with wings at at night put 2 pads on (at a recommendation from the nurse at the hospital) so I didnt leak or bleed through my clothes Chat Icon

Ahhh...what we have to look forward to Chat Icon

ETA: Your also going to want to pick up that spray that give you at the hospital...I forgot what it is called. It was a numbing spray if you tear. And they give you alcohol type pads that you should wipe with after going to the bathroom that I picked up extra of as well after I came home.

The hospital had these ginormous pads they literally went from my front to my back. If you are smaller than a size 16 they could almost reach your belly. I got thick pads at first and I am a thin pad girl. I would highly recommend overnights and then a multipack to help you taper down. I had a c/s and I bled for 4 weeks. I was not expecting to bleed for so long or even at all b/c I had a c/s, but you do bleed after a c/s just like a normal delivery.

get the overnight ones with wings

the first day the nurses put on the mesh one- and the hospital one- they are long- but thin left to right... they somehow lined up for- then one in the middle ontop..Chat Icon

by day 2 it was alot less, but still enough so i switched to granny's and 1 overnight. I prefer the thick ones cause then you know its staying in place.. with the ultrathin there is a little more chance of leakage depending on how you move around...

The day I got discharged, I made a pit stop at the drug store to buy:

1. Dermoplast (same numbing spray that the hospital gave me)

2. Witch hazel pads

3. Overnight pads

4. Some kind of numbing ointment (don't remember which one)

5. Colace

The hospital gives you a bunch of stuff to use while you're there, and I made sure to buy extra for home. I forgot the peri bottle that they gave me, and I had trouble finding another one so DH went back to the hospital and got an extra one for me.
