? about which days DD should be in daycare
We are moving from our apt to a house and will be making the switch from having a nanny two days a week to putting DD in daycare two days a week.
I work Tues/Thurs/Fridays. My father watches DD one day a week.
My question - should DD be in daycare Tues and Fridays or Thursdays and Fridays?
My dad will watch DD either tues or thurs - it's up to us. He can't do fridays.
Tues and Thurs daycare will be from 7:30 or 8am until 5 or 5:30
Friday daycare will be from 7:30 or 8am until 3pm.
Is it better for DD to have some days between daycare days - or is it better for her to have two consecutive days?
She's be just about 18 months when she starts

if it were me, i'd have 2 days back to back to carry over whatever they are teaching her that week, ultimately you have to decide which would be better for you and your family, i would prefer the consecutive set up

Agreed. It also makes it easier for the kids to adjust when it's consecutive days rather than every other day.

I chose to put DS in daycare for 2 consecutive days (MIL is with him one day and I'm home the rest of the time). I thought it would be easier on him.

I was told the same thing, esp at that age.

I have been thinking about the same thing. It may be tough for me to get 2 days in a row and still have my mom and MIL watch him sometimes. My DS will be about 9 months when we start. Do you think I should try for 2 consecutive days? I am wondering then, if he gets sick, he is more likely to miss his whole daycare week., If he had non-conesecutive days, he has more of a chance of making it for one of the days.

Back to back days works best. It is easier for them to adapt to and be settled.
