Academic daycares? School-like daycares?
Hi. I'm looking for a pre-k like daycare setting for my 4 year old. She has never been to daycare, only school as a 2 and 3 year old. I have to return to work so I want her in a setting where she will continue to learn on a pre k level.
Any ideas? I'm in western Nassau.

my DS goes to Sweet Tots in Bellmore. I don't know if that's western enough for you. i love it. he's 2.5 and comes home saying he wants to "trace the words" and "read his book". i think its great.

Re: Academic daycares? School-like daycares?
DS's daycare has a pull-out program for preschool. So from 8-9:30 he is in daycare. Then from 9:30-12:00 he goes to a different room for "preschool". Then he goes back to his regular room for daycare.
While he goes to preschool, the daycare teacher does "school" with the other kids. But its less formal.
His daycare also has a montessori class option. He goes to that in the afternoon since he stopped napping.
This is in central suffolk so prob not an option for you. But I'd ask any daycare what options they have.
