Accent wall?

I think this is what it's called. We have a wall along our staircase that we want to do something different to. We don't want to just paint it. Perhaps some sort of painted stripe or textured? Does anyone have pics of something like this?

Accent walls are wonderful :) My mom is a faux finisher and doing something like this in our new co-op for us... she's actually a vendor on here, Something Different by Debbie Viola, if you look in the Business Directory under Home improvements... she has lots of pictures on her website that could give you ideas :)

i did an accent wall in the den. this is the color.(not my furunitre though) its is so very pretty. Also, dont be afriad to go with dramatic colors - it really makes the space pop

Thanks guys. I like that mustard color. We have been considering a dark red since we have touches of this color in the living room. I'll check the site above for ideas.
