acrylic nails
I have had them for about 8 years, and would like to go back to natural. How long does it take for them to be healthy again and what can I do to make them thicker once the acrylic comes off. My natural nails are thin and do not grow long. I keep the acrylic ones very short and get fills every 2wks. I have found I just do not have the time or money anymore. Any advice would be VERY helpful TIA

Re: acrylic nails
I have had acrylics on and off for years. I would say to either go to the place and have them soaked off or you can even do it at home. I do it at home when I take off mine. I soak them in 100% acetone nail polish and then just buff my nails until they are smooth. Unfortunately, it takes until they grow out to be healthy again, mine are always thin and peeling until they fully grow out. You can always use nail thickener, or something like that to help it along.

Re: acrylic nails
I just had my permanent french nails removed. They are very weak and short now. It takes a few months for them to grow out. I took mine off, because my hands are always in water and they kept lifting. I am afraid to get a fungus.
I will just keep getting manicures.

Re: acrylic nails
I took mine off at the end of August and they are still not healthy. I need a few more months I think and then they will be. You can see where they grew out. My thumbs are taking the longest to grow!

Re: acrylic nails
I took mine off at the beginning of this year after having them on for years. At first, they were very soft so I kept them short. I used Nutranail Green Tea Growth Treatment along with Sally Hansen Hard As Wraps and it worked pretty well. Now that the nails have all grown out, they are pretty sturdy and don't break as often. I still keep them short, but, not as short as I used to.
