Acupuncture specialist recommendation
I am thinking about taking a more holistic approach and would like to try acupuncture and Alternative Medicine. Does anyone have one to recommend. I would prefer one in the NYC but, if you know one in LI that is good too. TIA

So far my experience w Ron sandoval has been great. I have been seeing him since dec. He does Chinese Medicine as well. He has a personal story with infertility because his wife had trouble. He actually high fived me last week when he found out about my bfp. He was so happy for me which was really nice. 631 424 8601. He is open tues, thurs, sat.

I saw Andrea Huggler at LI Holistic in Babylon Village for acupuncture only. I highly recommend her as I am now 16wks pregnant with my first baby.
They do have a licensed herbalist on staff there that prescribes Chinese herbs. She wanted me to do the herbs but I just wasn't comfortable with it.
They do take some insurance. If you call, their receptionist is very helpful. They did not take my insurance but they did offer me a discount. I paid $75 per acu session.

I see Dr. Li and Dr. Zheng in Huntington. I know they have a couple of offices on Long Island and one in Flushing. Aside from being a licensed acupuncturist, Dr. Li is also a MD board certified here and in China. I have done a couple of treatments with Chinese herbs and always with electric stim too.
For me, it's covered under my insurance. (I'm sure it has something to do with him being a MD and practicing rehab. but as long as it's covered, I don't ask!)

nothing is covered by my insurance if is has to do with infertility. I think I am going to have to go in the city because I cant get there in time when I get home from work until 7 pm. There looks like there is a good one for NYC infertility but, she charges 125 a session.

Dr. Sue Yang, she is in NYC and Jericho, NY - Nassau County.
I think she is like $80 per session, but the first one is like $125, no idea about the insurance thing, but know two people who couldn't get it covered - for non IF issues.
She is actually a medical Dr. from China.

I went to the Yin Ova Center in Manhattan a few times. They really helped me alot and have convenient hours.

Dr. Li in Huntington. He is the only one that accepted my insurance because he's an actual MD here and in China. He practices Chinese medicine and can prescribe herbs.
I actually went to Andy in RVC and he only did like 6 or 8 points. Then I went to Dr. li and he did 24! From that I really felt like Andy didn't have half the knowledge or experience of Dr. Li, JMHO. Also, within 1 month of acupuncture with Dr. Li my periods went from 42 days to 30 days. In 3 months my DH's sperm count went from 400,000 to 12 million from going 2x a week. My RE also said Li came highly recommended.

I must have missed this post, this is the same group I see. The number to their Huntington office is 631-549-8120. I'm not sure what they put for as the diagnosis but I don't think it's infertility so your insurance might cover it. Good luck!
