Adaptive PE Question
Our school has adaptive PE classes for the self contained classrooms. Basically it just a PE class that works on specific skills. Sometimes the OTs, or PTs push into the class as well to help with specific goals.
DD mainstreams for PE so is not in adaptive PE but she gets a PE consult where they go over the skills with her in her special ed class so she can do them in her mainstreamed PE class. As an example, they practiced jumping rope, explained to her and showed her how to do scooter hockey, volleyball, etc so she had an understanding before she was in with the Gen Ed kids. You need to find out what your school offers.
