Advice battling morning sickness?

It's hit me full force and I need help. I feel HORRIBLE 24-7.

Is it true you can get medication prescribed to help battle it?

I've been trying to eat little sweets (skittles, starbursts, gummy bears, etc) but it only gives me instant gratification and I end up having colorful puke.

Talk to your Dr. Many will prescribe Zofran, but some will only prescribe it if you are actually vomitting. My Dr did not b/c at the last visit I was only nauseous and gagging a little & she told me that the Zofran may actually make me puke.Chat Icon

Well now that I am full-on sick I called today & she wrote me a script for it. She said it dissolves on the tongue, so I do not even have to try & swallow it.

I am taking Zofran and have been on it for about a month now. It DEF helps but it isn't a cure all, as I still puke almost everynight. I was originally in 4mg 2x a day and they just upped my prescription to 8mg every 6-8 hours.

My dr. wouldn't give me zofran, so I relied on lemonade, french fries, toasted bagels and mint gum.

Zofran didn't help me at all.

I lived on lemon water, baked potatoes and iced tea. Strange combo but it didn't make me sick!!

They sell them at BRU. They have prego pops and drops. They are certain flavors that help battle morning sickness.

I've been dying to buy something from Babies R Us. Thanks for giving me an excuse to go!

I'm sure I won't be able to leave with just preggo pops.

I still have my moments and I'm 16w3d. Its usually in the morning when I first wake up. I have a post nasal drip so all the gunk drips from my sinuses to my throat. If I try and cough it up, I start to throw up or if I take a hot shower in the morning it will loosen it and make me throw up. Also certain smells like my kitchen garbage can. DH is on garbage duty all the time because I'm dry heaving to the point of puking. Even when he takes the garbage out and if the neighborhood cats get at it, I'm usually the first one out the door and I have to clean it up, I'm dry heaving in the drive way.

I read somewhere, it might've been on this board about eating watermelon to help relieve m/s. I've been living on it in the mornings all summer. Anytime I felt nauseous, I ate some and it seemed to help.

The preggo pops actually made me gag! I've only vomited twice and once was from the preggo pops. Not much really helped me with the nausea.

Re: Advice battling morning sickness?

I guess everyone is different. I couldn't get enough of it, especially in the morning. I had no problems eating at least 5 pieces in 1 sitting.

Re: Advice battling morning sickness?

yes you can get medication. Reglan and Zofran are the most common. Talk to your Dr about it.

Carbs tend to be better. And lemon helps. Lemon in your drinks, even smelling a lemon will help a bit Chat Icon
