Advice for leaving puppy for first time?
DH and I are going to Floruda for a week and we have to leave Murray.
He's going to be staying with our friends, who he knows well and I know will take good care of him. They also have a dog and Murray love's their dog.
Any tips on anything I should do to make this easier for all of us?

If he is crate trained and it can be transported then def bring that.. My dog lovers her crate and felt very safe in it at my mothers.. I left my robe with her too.. My dog is always laying on my robe.. She loves it..

No practical advice, but just remember that the separation will be far harder on you than it will be on your pup

Re: Advice for leaving puppy for first time?
i usually gave him a couple of his favorite toys when we went away and he stayed at my friends house
now if we go away he stays home and my neighbor comes over several times a day and brings the kids over to play with him. This seems to work better for him because hes in his own surroundings and the kids are over all the time

It always breaks my heart to leave my dog! But you are doing a good thing by leaving it with your friends. I always bring my dog to my parents or have someone stay at the house with her. Bring anything that makes her more comfortable and more like home!
