Advice on changing wake-up time?

Before we took the side of the crib off, DS would sleep from 9pm to 7:30-8am. It was great.

Since we took the side of the crib off, he gets up at 5:30-5:45am! Especially now that it's already bright at that time, he just pops out of bed and won't go back to sleep.

He doesn't take longer naps and I can't get him to start going to be earlier--no matter what, he won't get in bed before 9pm, even when I tried really small increments. Even when we experimented on going to bed later, he was up bright and early with the sun.

And we can't put the crib side back on at this point.

You think there's any way I could get him to stay down another hour?

Re: Advice on changing wake-up time?

If you find out the trick let me know!!!

Gavin used to wake up around 7:30 too, actually he would wake up earlier but suck on his 2 fingers and hang out in his crib for a while.

Since he hurt his finger and couldn't suck on it he's been waking up and not sleeping well for 2 months....5:30 wake up screams every morning!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I feel your pain. I have been having the same problem. I have tried making the room really dark in the mornings but that isn't helping. I don't know what else to do. I hope someone can share some ideas, I could use them to.
