my chances of downs syndrome are 1 and 7 which means 85% its all ok... I feel sick to my stomach.. I have to go for an amnio under my Dr recommendations.. I need to prepare myself.. Please pray for me and my baby.. I cant stop crying.. Has anyone heard of bad results like this and everything ok?

Please understand that the AFP has the HIGHEST rate of false positives....this means the blood test may be faulty. I declined the AFP when I was PG with Rogan for that exact reason.....my ultrascreen was fine and the level 2 was in a few weeks anyway.

Ugh Diana hang in there, TRY to stay calm (its great you could schedule the amnio today!!) as so many have said the AFP has frequent false positives, heck just look at the 'related threads' listed below, SO MANY posters have gone through that!
My numbers were elevated due to maternal age so we had the cvs test (similar to an amnio); i know the waiting is the hardest part, so you have my prayers for a great result!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am praying for you. Have them rush the results. I know you must be beside yourself. These tests have a lot of false positives as others have said.

Praying so hard for you Diana. AFP does have a very high rate of false positives. I too declined it with DD. I did the Nucal Transulcency and then the level 2 but not the AFP. Praying that your mind is eased soon
