After 3 years, I FINALLY got my craft room!!!pic blitz
As some of my old LIF/LIW scrapping buddies know, I've been out of the loop for a while. Part of it was because we bought our house & I got distracted. Then it was because I never had a real place in the new house to call my craft room. Well finally DH totally surpassed my dreams by building this for me. The "room" is actally a small weirdly shaped loft that looks down to our great room. At first we had it as a small exercise area & my DH's business office was in the bedroom next door. He doesn't have his main office in the house anymore so we moved the gym equiptment in there (pics coming soon of that) & I claimed the loft. Now I have great views of the lake & windows that look out to the front of the house.
I drew a design for DH & this is what he built.Its really hard to get great pics because of the size & shape of the space. The top shelf is exactly the right height for me to reach with a small step stool.
This is what you see when you get up the stairs & look into the loft, I am going to paint those letters & move them to a different spot.
to the left a little, my scrapbooks, paper, embellishments & the baskets have assorted scrapping stuff
My basic home office stuff
a little more to the left-that is the gym door, more scrapping stuff in baskets
I FINALLY got my wrapping paper center, the metal bucket has tissue paper, gift bags, clear basket bags & small floral stuff I use for gift baskets. All of my ribbon, tape & scissors are there on the peg board. And a book shelf below
more photo boxes & crafts in baskets, this area is over the doorway to the room & starts to go over the stairs
This area is over the stairs & I can't reach it without a huge ladder so after I paint the "create" letters I'll fun-tack the up there
the last section, you can see the railing that looks downstairs
recycled spice racks for little stuff, a little more peg board, more baskets of craft stuff.
The fabric that I'll make window treatments with
Still need to get magazine files, a few more baskets, clean the windows & DH is building another portable work table for me, I'll post pics when its 100% done.
So I'll be crafting away now!!!

Holy cow thats so cool. Martha Stewart just showed her loft craft room in one of her last issues.

I'm a HUGE Martha fan, I searched her website & old magazines for ideas but I didn't love any of them, I modified the peg board from something she suggested. I had saved pics of other craft rooms over the years but this room was challenging because of the size, shape & lack of major wall space.
I'm thrilled with the way it came out, the best part is DH had most of the lumber(except two pieces of plywood) in his shop leftover from other stuff & I paid a dollar for the peg board at a yard sale & painted it white. We even had the primer & white paint, the room was already painted. So the whole project was about $30

 your DH did a great job! I love it! Gives me some ideas for my computer room. That is great that you only spent $30.  Enjoy your new space.
