After shots- How many days later might they run a fever??
DS got shots on Monday, and has a fever tonight. He seems to be acting normal. Not lethargic. Took all his bottles.
Are the two related? Or is something else going on?

Did they give you a handout with the side effects?
Some shots can give fevers anywhere from 24 hours to a week later. I would see how he continues to act. If he is fine I would guess it is the shots. Call the ped in the am just to verify.

Re: After shots- How many days later might they run a fever??
I think it really depends on how the individual child's body reacts to the shot. There were certain shots for which DS ran a 101 for a day and then a low grade fever for a few days after that - sometimes up to 4 days or so after.
ETA: Did the fever just appear now days later? Then, unless it is a live virus shot im thinking it might not be related - Our ped usually said any reaction would appear within 24 hrs or so.

I think it depends on the shot, too. With chicken pox, they told us it could be a delayed reaction.
