After stressing about Scudder Park all day, my parents called me with a very nice offer....
My stepmom called me ( I spoke to her earlier in the day about this whole thing) and she said why not look into a restaraunt somewhere?
I'm like - cuz this was free...
She says after the food, decorations, etc - maybe a restaraunt won't be much more, and they offered to help pay for it!
soooo - we were thinking of maybe a Chinese restaraunt? There will be about 4 toddlers there, a few young children, and then adults... maybe about 30-35 - so, anyone have any suggestions in the Western Suffolk area?

I have to tell you that we had the Twins 1st Birthday Party at a Chinese Buffet. It really went very very well and everyone really had a nice time. I dont remember the name of the place but it's the one in Airport Plaza..

That was so nice of them...I am glad it worked out for you. She's right, by the time you add everything up sometimes it costs just about the same to have it at a restaurant.

Aww that's great. My parents like the buffet in Commack (Mayfair shopping Center), DH and I like the one on DPA (I think it's considered Babylon)..I forget the name of it though..I want to say Grand Buffet City or something like that..It's attached to Nathan's. I actually planned a holiday party there a few years ago and we had a private room.

If my parents could move in to the Mayfair buffet, they would! I think that some other buffets have better areas for parties, but that is a decent buffet.

Great idea! A co-worker of mine always has her parties at a chinese buffet in Ronkonkoma and she raves about it! It's so inexpensive and who doesn't love chinese food!

ronkonkoma may be a bit too far...
What is good anywhere between
Plainview-Huntington-Northport?
I don'ty like that place in the airport plaza in Farmingdale - I got sick after eating there one time - could be a fluke, but I dunno....

DH loves China East on 110. We ate there once and I remember there was a private party going on while we were there. The food was very good.
That's not the one you got sick after, right

No - I was actually thinking of that one - across from the mall, right? They have a room, or an area for the party?

We have had a few parties at a FABULOUS one in Plainview. It is called Morgos Dynasty on Old Country Road. It is right off of Rte 135.
You basically have most of the restuarant, and it is not really a buffet. It is a full service restaurant, but the put the food out family style. You choose the dishes you want and they put giant platters out on the table.
It is nicely decorated, and the service is excellent. I believe it was $14 pp. Give them a call, I promise, you won't be dissapointed.

My ILs love Morgos. They go every time they are up. It's my BILs fave too.

It's probably the same one, but I don't remember if it was across from a mall. It was a while ago that we went. The party was in a separate room.

I don't know the exit # for Morgos. I know that it is the Old Country Rd exit off of the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway/Rte 135. You take it South. It is a few lights past North Shore Plainview Hospital. It is up on the right hand side- just over Manetto Hill Road.

I like Morgos.
It's East of 135. On Old Country Rd. Just East of the intersection of Old Country Rd and Manetto Hill Rd.
You don't need to go on 135. From Northern State, take the Round Swamp rd. to go West. It will be in the same shopping center as Cravings on the left side.
I also like East Buffet on 110 across the mall.

Kerie, my parents go there probably once a week w/ my aunts!
Liza, there's also Mushroom in West Babylon, not really a buffet, but they have parties all the time there.
