If you work in NYC, Starbucks Gift Cards (or any other local vendor ... Au Bon Pane, Hale & Hearty, local manicure place etc ...)

One company I worked for used to give us a gc for the company cafeteria so we could get lunch on them.

Is there a local manicure place ... or food vendor (deli, chinese food, pizza place, salad bar) the ladies frequent? also Dunkin Donuts, Ralph's Ices, etc ....

Are you their manager? Can they leave an hour early on Friday? That would have meant A LOT to me to beat the commute and start my weekend a little earlier.

Excellent idea!

ETA: Since I don't drink coffee and haven't stepped foot into DD in years...I like this idea, if you're allowed to do it of course. The Godiva is also a good idea.

Re: What's a nice but inexpensive token of appreciation

For around $30-40 per bottle (I think closer to $30), you can get Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Yellow Label Brut Champagne.

That's one of my favorites.

I would say an comped day off, or to work half a day. I would LOVE if I got that as appreciation for my work.

ITA. Find out where they order in from ( a local place) and pay for their order one day. I would also buy a card for each and write something nice to them in the card.
