age for play kitchens
how old was your dc when they really started playing with their play kitchens?
i am not sure if we should get it for christmas, or wait until his 2nd bday...thanks!!!

I have one as a hand-down. Both my kids started playing with it appropriately by 20 months. BUt even right now, my dd is 15 months and she loves opening the doors and taking things out, putting them in. She loves it.

Whenever DS (15 months old) visits a friend's daycare center, he goes straight for the kitchen. Like the pp said, he usually opens the doors and likes to take stuff out and put it in. We got him a kitchen for Christmas. We figure there are things on it now that he likes, and as he gets older he can use it as a kitchen.

DD got a hand-me-down kitchen (small one) and started really playing with it at about age 2. We just got her a new one thats much bigger for xmas. she will be 2.5

we have one at my grandma's house and we got it when she was 1. But my MIL bought one for Xmas she will be 20 months.
