Airline Tickets

Anyone else feel like booking airline tickets is just a ridiculous process?!

We are going to Barcelona in September to go on a Mediterranean cruise. I have been checking almost every day - we are really hoping for direct flights.

I should have booked last night, i checked this morning and they are $150 more than last night at 10 pm.

The filghts range from $525 (with stops) to over $1,000 (with stops too!). I mean how can the prices be THAT different?!

It just doesn't make sense!!!

Any tips???

I am using kayak which searches all the travel sites and looking directly at continental and delta.com....

yeah it is crazy...DH and i just went to florida and it was ridiculous the prices of tickets. So many flights had layovers and were so expensive! and to have a layover going to FL. is a little silly IMO.

i heard from a friend that wednesday nights are the cheapest time to buy tickets...like around 12:00. i'm not positive on that so i would ask around but she went on and checked and the prices were cheaper....but you have to act quick b/c they change after a few hours. It's crazy!!

I am actually going on a cruise this Friday for our honeymoon.

We are flying to Barcelona but the plane stops in Madrid for less than 45 minutes.

I don't think there are any direct flights without switching in Madrid.

Our flight round trip cost $1400. That is with flights to Barcelona and from Venice (That's where our cruise ends.)

We booked our flights through a travel agent. It made things easier for us.

ETA: September is a prime month... So that could be why flights are pricey. What cruise line are you taking?

We are taking Royal Carribean - so excited.

I found direct flights both ways from JFK (soooo close to my home).

We booked it, now we are all set.
