Airplane activities for a 2 year old?

So far, I have the following:

Crayons, paper
Those magic markers that only show up on special paper
Magnadoodle
Fun little tchotchkes - wind up toys, and mini cars that he's obsessed with
Books

What else? Chat Icon

Portable DVD player
Action figures

Are the wind-up toys noisy? Also be prepared to go searching under the seat for those little cars...

I was wondering the same thing about the wind-up toys! Don't want to pi$$ off those around you! Chat Icon

We brought a portable DVD player for DS last weekend, but the sound from the screen wasn't loud enough to be heard over the plane's engine hum. Chat Icon Chat Icon And he kept the earphones on for 2 minutes at a time. We did our best.

We also brought a TON of his favorite snacks, so he would be eating during takeoff and landing.

Little wind up toys won't go over the engine either ( you know - those old fashioned ones we had growing up - he loves them!!!)

Re: Airplane activities for a 2 year old?

DD loves to push buttons so we brought her toy computer as well as a cheap portable video game(we found a wow wow wubzy game in target for $10). She had no idea how to play it but the fact that she could push buttons and it made noise was enough to keep her occupied for awhile.
