Airplane help... United/Continental merging ... etc....
Long story short, I am claustrophobic, my DH has just healed from a back injury, my DH and I are going away cross country in about a month and a half for vacation, United airlines merged w/ Continental, we spent hours on the phone with them in November when we booked the flights to get an aisle seat for both of us. Well, now that they merged, you cannot get someone to speak American English, we are calling into India or the Pilillipines, and they will not guarantee us we will get aisle seats, unless we want to upgrade for more leg room for $138.00 EACH extra. A supervisor will not help us, except we were able to rebook the flights there , which we did already and got aisle seats as of now for the FIRST flight, which now brings us to a connecting flight in Chicago.... he , the supervisor, reminded us it can change, without notice- "lucky us", and on the way home WE HAVE A GUARNTEED SEAT ON THE PLANE . WE JUST DO NOT HAVE AN AN AISLE SEAT , NO ONE WILL HELP US!!!!! We cannot get further then a supervisor who will not go higher up , we do not care if we are not next to each other etc, we just need those aisle seats, aside from practically begging a the counter at the airport, or my DH bringing his MRI reports etc, does anyone have any advice for us? Help!!!! PS We thought of just going straight to the airport this weekend to see if someone can help us there, but DH says it will not work...... YIKES and HELP! Thank you in advance for any advice!

I found this on their siteCustomer Service Info
If you scroll all the way to the bottom, it says that they have offices in Penn Station - you might have better luck there than at the airport.
Good luck!!!!

I hate calling them - I had a couple questions booking a flight last year and I had to wait an hour to speak with someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you pull up the reservations online and select seats there?
Also - check in online as soon as you can before the flight - they usually release the holds from the premium seats so more windows/aisles become available at that point.

Honestly no one is guaranteed their seat assignment until check in. When you booked your flight and picked seats if you picked aisle seats you should be fine. Seat assignments are rarely changed but it does happen.
The only advice I can give is to go online and try to change your seat assignment to aisle seats now. Or check in online and get to the airport early and try to change your assignment there.
I fly a lot and have had the seat assignments only rarely

If I were you guys, I would just nicely ask the person in your rows in the aisle seat to switch with you. If they accept, offer to buy them a drink.
