Airport Strollers
Hi!
I'm just wondering if you ladies have any recommendations on a great stroller for airport travel. My DS will be 6 months in a few weeks, and he and I will be going on our first plane ride together... to make things a little more stressful, Daddy is staying home! Ahhhh! There's so many umbrella stollers out there, and I don't want to spend over $100-150 on one if I can help - what does everyone have? Does anyone have the Summer Infant Quick-Fold or the Macleran Volo?
Thanks!!!

Re: Airport Strollers
I use the cheap umbrella strollers, but when we took dd on a plane when she was 1 1/2months, we took the regular travel system one, and they checked it at the gate for us, and when we were getting off the place, it was right there ready for us!
Maybe you could bring your regular stroller and have them do this for you too!

Re: Airport Strollers
I'll have to ask.... does it cost extra? Food for thought!

Re: Airport Strollers
nope, no extra cost. They did it for everyone else that was on the plane and needed a stroller. What airline are you taking. I think it as southwest that we took. Maybe you can call them and find out if they do gate checks.

Re: Airport Strollers
I checked my regular travel system stroller at the airline gate and I was really disappointed when I got off the plane because it was MANGLED. One of the wheels was bent out to the side and it was all dented and scraped with black stuff. I don't know if it's just American Airlines or what, but I wouldn't take the chance again. I would just bring an umbrella stroller.

Re: Airport Strollers
Thats what I was nervous about.... I was thinking of a small stroller that might be able to fit in the overhead

Re: Airport Strollers
Because of bag limits, no airline will allow strollers in an overhead- including the small umbrella strollers....

Re: Airport Strollers
Ugh.... the stroller issue is stressing me out! I don't want it to be mangled when I get off the plane and there's just me to take care of everything.... cross my fingers it won't fall apart!!!

Re: Airport Strollers
Really? They replaced it for you? Oh man, I should have said something then. I didn't even bother because I remembered reading on the website that they would check strollers at the gate, but they weren't responsible for any damage that might be caused. Now I regret not complaining about it! I'm such a pushover. lol
