alimentum/ nutramigen users

My doctor recommended that we use alimentum or nutramigen for DD bc of her tummy troubles. I BF, but use a little formula to supplement (maybe 1-2 oz a day). Last night I tried to give it to her and she flipped out! She hated the taste of it and now is afraid of bottles! I couldn't even give her pumped BM!

My question:
How did your DC's take to these formulas at first, and if they hated it, how long before they accepted that this was their lot in life? It smells so awful, I can imagine what it must taste like!

Luckily my DS didn't seem to mind it at all...(I use Alimentum). Maybe mix it with mostly BM and a touch of formula and gradually increase it?

DS had Alimentum until he was three months, I also BF at first but he seemed to like the taste.

Before we went to alimentum, ds was on Gentlease, which is the worst smelling formula IMO. So i think the Alimentum was a step up from that!

He wasn't too thrilled at first, but he had no choice.

We did try to gradually introduce it to him though. Have you tried mixing it with some BM and then reducing the amount of BM and increasing the formula?
