Did anyone use All Seasons Photography for a newborn shoot? If so... would love to hear any reviews good/bad. Additionally... if you have any photos she took that you'd be willing to share, I'd appreciate it! TIA!

I never heard of them but I looked at the website just now and personally, I would not use them. I did not think that the pictures looked of good quality at all although the little kiddos in them were cute.

Same here. Looks like someone just starting out and shouldn't be charging yet so I personally wouldn't use them. Lots to learn still. If they are new and offering free shoots then I would try them, but I then would pay a more experienced photographer to get a professional level shoot.

. ITA. When you are learning you shouldn't charge, because at that stage you are not providing a professional service. In the beginning, the photog should be more interested in honing their skills and gaining experience, rather than charging clients. JMHO

Neither do I. I have used her for multiple photography sessions since my DD was born and have been very happy with the images.....not to mention she provides all images on a CD, which not many photographers provide.

Re: All Seasons Photography

I had to search google "All Seasons photography NY" and believe I got the right site. If so, I think her pics look fine. They're not under or over exposed or over processed, blurry or anything else.

Photography, like any art, is extremely subjective. What I like, you may not. Choose a photographer who's style is one you like, not one everyone else likes. And if you're unhappy with your shoot? SPEAK UP TO THEM (constructively of course). Tell them what you DID and what you did NOT like.

I have seen her photos and I honestly believe they are hit or miss.

That said, I don't agree that she shouldn't be charging, her rates are low, so obviously she is still starting out. She is still putting time and effort into a project.

She doesn't charge NEAR what others charge. She knows she is still a starter and works with you. Well worth it, IMO.

Re: All Seasons Photography

I will mirror what was said: "Choose a photographer who's style is one you like" if you like what you see then book them. If you don't see it on their website/fb it means they don't do it and don't expect any more or less then what you see on their pages. Chat Icon

I also want to touch on the subject of after the shoot tell them constructive criticism. I say make sure you and your photographer sit down and hash out the details prior to the shoot. If you want formal type shots then say it, if you want the photographer to run the show then say it, if you want a mix then say it. If you want your kid hanging upside down on a fake tree with fairies dancing around them then say it prior to the contract being established. It helps you the consumer and the photographer to have a very open discussion so in the end you see your proofs and your wowed and not going "eh." That is my advice.

What happens if you pay and you end up with a miss? If she posts her misses on her website then I don't think she can tell the differences between her hits and misses which makes me wonder what I would end up with if I payed.

Her landscape photos are beautiful. But her portraits look like she just picked up a nice camera and started charging. I see underexposed and direct on camera flash. I can see she has the eye but has lots to improve on before taking money. Even if its very little money. If you used her and loved your photos that fantastic.

I admit I didn't enlarge her photos, I just glanced.

But, if I wasn't happy with her shots and they were all horrible with no usable pics? I would expect a reshoot or refund.

Re: All Seasons Photography

All I know is it's better than I could do myself - so for THAT alone I'd be willing to pay her something!

It's all about your perspective and what you are willing to pay/what you expect.

I agree her work is good and she should definately be paid for her time and effort. She is above being a "free" photographer.

Great point! When hiring any photographer (especially if you question the outcome of their photos) make sure that somewhere in the contact that you are signing that it mentions reshoots if you are not pleased with the photos. That way you won't be out of the money you payed.

This is where I disagree. Doing free shoots as a photographer is like your way of paying for a collage education. Its where you learn the skills and hone your craft. So while the photographer will be out money they are in essence paying to get experience. As a photographer we all start somewhere but that doesn't mean people should pay you while you are still learning and making mistakes.

I recently used her for my newborn shoot. Part of what attracted me to her was her "reasonable" pricing. I am on my phone so cannot upload pics from DDs shoot but if you go to her FB page you can see all of her work. DD is her profile pic and a bunch more. I was very happy with the outcome, she was very gentle w/ DD. She brought tons of props to my house and took her time. I received EVERY picture she took on a CD, plus 45 edited photos. She also asked permission to use photos for her website/FB. Page before posting.
