Oh and it took DH and I a lot of saving to get our house...believe me it doesn't come easy.
This is true! Like I use to think as a kid, Money doesn't grow on trees
It took us a lot to save for what we have but if you set your mind to it, you can! Every dollar counts when you are saving!!!!

I hear ya 10000%.
Sometimes I get depressed when looking at the boards, or furthermore, at what other friends/family members have. We have struggled so much in the past two years. The good news is, like other posters stated, I do like to count my blessings. Also, it is amazing how quickly things can turn around (at least that is what I keep telling myself).

Noone...I was elaborating on a previous post that stated the same that "Money isnt everything" and that I agree and that she should be happy with what she has for now.

I do know what you mean.. but when I start thinking about it too much I realize I can't think like that. We could be A LOT worse off. We will work with what we have for now, to think about what other people have is pointless.

Re: All this talk about money....(spinoff)
Believe me....my inlaws were incredibly generous and as our wedding gift, gave us the closing costs (about $10K) for our townhouse. Without them it would have been harder......if my parents hadn't hosted our wedding, then we would not have had the wedding we did. We paid for the band, limos, etc--but they paid for that reception. We feel truly blessed!

Money ISN'T everything... at all... but let's all try to remember that those people who do have more, and have more expenses, aren't necessarily "unhappy" or making sacrifices in their lives to HAVE money. Right now Dh and I live very comfortably, AND I'm living my dream as an attorney (ok ok I hate my job, but I'm actively searching for a new one) and DH is living his dream owning his own business. But we both encountered serious toils to get to this place. DH had to live in his partner's house for almost 2 years when they started the business until he could afford to rent his own place. I quit my well-paying job in HR to go back to school to get my J.D., and lived totally and completely penniless for 3 years...
this is a good point sweetie. not everything comes at once, but you guys WILL get there. some of the people posting are older than you are and more established...
you JUST got married sweetness..and let's face it, some people (NOT all) had help with down payments and such from family and friends.
you will have the things you want. everyone has different priorities at different times. don't sweat it.
