Allergies!
They are so bad!! My boys take Xyzal, Flonase, allergy eye drops and have a humidifier in their rooms. Ugh! I was miserable yesterday and took a Benedryl to knock myself out. LOL
There's pollen everywhere!

Re: Allergies!
I usually do not suffer at this time of year, my allergies are God awful in the fall. However, I have been noticing I'm sneezing a lot and I have this annoying post nasal drip like dry cough for the last week. It has to be allergy related. And like I said, mine are never bad at this time of year, so for me to be feeling it, it must be pretty bad out there.

Re: Allergies!
Mine are horrible this year. My eyes are dripping all the time. They are either goopy or dry when I wake up.
Luckily the headaches were not as bad this year but about 2 weeks ago I had a sore throat and I do sneeze occasion. The worst is my eyes though.
I will probably have to get something non drowsy as I do take Benadryl but I will fall asleep so can only take at night.

Zatador is great for eyes during allergy season - I take it when my eyes are runny and swollen.
There was a cloud of pollen when I went outside last night to close my car windows.

Thanks I will have to look into that. I have had this since I was a kid. Just never really taken anything but aspirins for the headaches.

Re: Allergies!
Mine are bad also, but I do a few things to combat them. I don't drive with my windows open or even leave them open. The pollen will just sit in your car. I also changed my car Cabin air filter, which is NOT the one under your hood. It's typically behind your glove box. I shower every night before going to bed and always wash my hair. Pollen sitting in dirty hair just makes the allergies worse. I use the eye drops before bed sometimes. I also do a nasal rinse after being outside with some Saline spray I got at the store. I was taking allergy meds like Zyrtec, but they make me feel weird, so I cut that out!

Re: Allergies!
Every spring I start using Flonase one month before allergies and it usually helps. This year it has helped, but I'm waking up in the mornings with a light headache and itchy eyes... which is nothing compared to how bad I get them.

I don’t drive as much as I have since working from home and I have the windows open now and sit outside as much as I can so that doesn’t help. Going out does make it worse sometimes though.

Re: Allergies!
I never have a problem this time of year normally but I am suffering! Nothing is really helping either. So gross.

Allergies!
I kept my son home today because he was so stuffy. Not sure how he’s going to go back tomorrow and wear a mask with his nose like a faucet so he may be home another day. He doesn’t have Covid - I had him tested this am to clear him to go back.

For some reason my stuffy, allergy boy had a slight fever so sent home and now waiting on Covid results or he can't go back. It's so crazy.

We need to test even if we don't have a fever. Thankfully our pediatrician has the rapid PCR - I could've gotten him yesterday for 4th period lol. He sounds pretty bad today as well though - but I sent him with extra masks and wrote notes to all of his teachers explaining his issues.

Oh, I totally understand. I would feel bad sending my kid into school with COVID. Just shows you how bad these allergies are now

Re: Allergies!
This season I am taking 24hr Allegra (not the D) and I am doubling up the dosage. One in the morning and one before bed. So far so good.
I was noticing the Allegra gives me relief, but it was wearing off after 12 hours (even though it's a 24hr dose) so I decided to take it twice a day which seems to be working well. If I take the Allegra-D, that works really well but it wires me up and I don't sleep.
I was on allergy shots for 20+ years though and finally stopped my shots last year at the start of the pandemic. That might have also helped me enough where I can just medicate now to have relief. My allergies when I was a teen and young adult were downright miserable.
If my son ever gets the same allergies I had, I will definitely put him on the shots. I recommend anybody else do the same.
