Almost time for New Years Resolutions

Anyone still working on your resolution from last year? I am, because I have a lot to lose and I'm doing it slowly. But so far, I'm still sticking to it!

My resolution for this coming year will be to lose at least 27 more pounds (I've already lost about 53). Then I'll re-evaluate.

No time limit, although I am in a wedding in May. The bigger goal is to maintain once I get to a suitable weight. I have no idea what that will take, but I'm looking forward to maintaining rather than losing. Chat Icon

How about you guys?

GREAT goals! And congrats on your weightloss. That's tremendous!

My goals for 2012 is to exercise regularly and stick to a healthy plan. I have 10 pounds to lose. Once that comes I want to focus on firming up.

Congrats to you!!!
I don't have a set # in mind - I just want to loose until I am happy with what I see.
I also want to be able to workout more regularly! Having my DS makes that so hard for me - I don't want to sacrifice time with him for working out. But I am going to set up a resolution to get up earlier in the morning and fit it in then!
I also have a goal of running a half marathon!!

Re: Almost time for New Years Resolutions

I didn't have one diet or exercise related last year. This year my resolution is to run my first half marathon.

Re: Almost time for New Years Resolutions

My goals for 2011 were to get back to pre-preg weight (DONE!), complete my first half marathon and do so under 2 hours (DONE!), get my 5k time back down to 24:00-25:00 (DONE!!), and compete in as many races as my sxhedule would allow (14 DONE!).
in 2012 i would like to continue what i am doing. Keep exercising regularly and eating healthier while maintaining weight. I will also run my first full marathon (no time goal just to finish), bring 5k time down to 23:00-24:00, and compete is an many races as i can, maybe another half marathon too. I am alao going to restart that 100 push up challenge thing.

Re: Almost time for New Years Resolutions

Keep up with my exercising, commit to going to the gym 4-5 times a week. Improve my run times, and get PR's in as many races as possible. Increase the ratio of healthy food to junk food on a daily basis.

Re: Almost time for New Years Resolutions

Did my first race (warrior dash) on saturday and loved it, I can see it becoming addicting! I want to do as many 5k's as I have time for and can afford... it keeps me motivated to run/work out more.

I want to eat healthy like 75% of the time. I think long ago I was considered a healthy eater and I want to get back to that. So this year I want to re-embrace vegetables and fruit and cut back on the meat, sugar and fat.

Re: Almost time for New Years Resolutions

I'm still working on my resolution from last year. I've lost about 58lbs so far since January. I am at my original goal weight, but I'm still not happy. I've managed to maintain my weight since June, but now I think I would like to lose at least 20 more lbs.

So that will be my goal in the new year. Work on losing 20lbs and trying out different classes/machines at the gym. Also pushing myself more than I am now.

I keep thinking that's what is going to happen to me. Because I look at myself with only 27 pounds to go and think... I can do better. I know I was happiest at that weight 5 years ago, but I just gave up the good habits.

I see pics of myself at that weight and I have no muscle tone. I have more now, even though I'm heavier. What is it that isn't making you happy? Any one area or the size you're in...?

I'm at the weight I was when I got married 5 years ago. I am still overweight but I was happy. My stomach was relatively flat then. I guess now because I've had 2 kids, my stomach is a mess, my arms are flabby...I'm just generally not happy with my body. I'm a size 14 now (down from a size 22/24 a year ago) but I think I would like to be down to maybe a 10.

I keep hearing that even 1-5 years makes such a difference with your body, that you can't expect the same results from the same actions. I'm starting to see that that's true for me. I didn't work this hard the first time, and I dropped the weight faster.

I'm trying not to think about sizes. I started at 20 and now I'm on the cusp of 14 (another 10 pounds should do it) but my only incentive with the number is being able to shop in regular stores. It's hard to get it out of my head that double digits means I'm too big, you know?

Re: Almost time for New Years Resolutions

Yes, I am trying to take off the same 18 pounds from last year's resolution. I am maintaining fine, but can't lose these extra 18. I guess I would focus my resolution on exercising that much harder and eating that much cleaner so that I can see a difference. (pounds and just physically). I have already changed my body so much in this past year but I have just been disappointed that I am maintaining the same weight and in some instances gaining muscle and inches. I look better and I feel healthier but when you want to see small numbers on the scale and measuring tape, it is defeating.

I'm the same way. My only goal in the beginning was to be able to walk into any store and buy clothes. To not have to go to Lane Bryant or Avenue if I didn't want to. I could walk into the mall and go into any store and find something that fit. I think as well as losing some more weight I really think I need to work on toning. Right now I do mainly cardio workouts and I really think I need to add in weights. Maybe that would make a difference and make me feel better.

It's been so long since I could shop in a "regular" store, I forgot what that feels like. How amazing that would be.

I do weights first, then cardio. I like the results, I get a warm-up and feel like I can do more on the treadmill. It's thrilling for me to see my muscles. Chat Icon

My big goal this coming year will be to run a 10k

Totally forgot about this thread!

I set three goals:

1. Lose 27 pounds. I am 2 pounds away from reaching this with a few weeks left in December. Chat Icon

2. Be a solid size 14 or less. Done.

3. Shop in regular clothes stores. Done.

I also started running 5k races which wasn't something I set out to do in December but it's an accomplishment I'm proud of myself for.

I'm a little surprised that I actually did what I set out to do, but it gets easier to believe, the more time goes on, that this is for good. Chat Icon

I've lost 20 pounds since July 1st. I had hoped to lose 25 by the end of this year, which would have be 1/2 way to my goal.

My New Year Resolution is to lose 30 pounds by July 1st.

Hope I can do it!!!!
