Alternative to Uggs?

So I hate Uggs. I can't stand how ugly and moon bootish the foot part is and I can't get past it. I also would never spend that kind of money on something I loathe the look of.

I am looking for something similar though to wear on weekends in the winter. In the summer I spend the weekends in flip flops. So I want something equally as comfy and casual for weekend errand running, etc.
Something I can throw on with leggings. I don't like how sneakers look with legging (boot cut yoga pants they look fine but narrow ankled leggings look odd with sneakers to me)

I'd prefer something inexpensive as well, so faux lining etc is fine.

Anything like this exist?

Re: Alternative to Uggs?

I bought fake uggs on amazon my the brand Soda. They're all synthetic, but they still look like uggs... So if it's the look you hate, then I've been no help lol

I love Sporto boots. They're comfy and look much better than Uggs.

Re: Alternative to Uggs?

Look at the Barefoot line. DSW carries them and they are around 60 to 90 dollars. I just bought a pair and they are very comfortable. They were actually right next to a pair of uggs that I thought were hideous.

have you ever owned a pair of uggs? based on your previous posts, you and i probably have the same foot problems and uggs are the most comfortable shoe EVER. they are ugly, but the fact that I can walk for hours and not complain is worth it

THIS. Heaven to my feet. Plus, what you describe is the classic uggs. They have so many different lines that some look exactly like that picture you said you loved and have to find now. They have quite a few dressy ones now with different shapes in the front that are sleeker and not "moon" shaped.

ETA: you can try timberlands though

Re: Alternative to Uggs?

WHYYY can't they make them pretty?
Is it that hard to make a comfy shoe/boot pretty?
Is it against some law of the universe?

these look similar to the ones above and they are uggs. they aren't all moon-boots!

I'm contemplating getting Nike dunks to wear on the weekends with leggings and skinny jeans. Not sure if I can pull off that look though.

Re: Alternative to Uggs?

OK so I went to the official UGGS website and took a peek around with the nudging of you ladies.

I was amazed that they had actual shoes and boots that were actually dressy.

Some beautiful stuff, yes, and a lot says made in Italy, which is a huge plus because I find Italian made shoes just "work" better on my freak feet.

But what I am in the market for, something casual and cozy to wear on the weekends to run around in, I can't justify their prices. I can't spend $200 on a weekend knock around boot.

I will look into some of the other brands mentioned on this thread.

Thank you for opening my eyes to the fact that Uggs are NOT just your mother's moon boots anymore though!

Re: Alternative to Uggs?

I was 100% against Uggs forever....last year while preggo during the winter, I decided it was finally time to purchase a cheap pair of winter boots that I could wear with jeans and leggings, and not worry about falling in (95% of my shoes are heels). On top of that, I needed something that could just slip on because my legs and feet swelled up like tree trunks. I ended up buying two pairs of Ugg knock-offs at Kohl's. They were like $30 each and were the best investment I made all winter.
