Am I a Terrible Mommy?
Is it horrible to NOT look forward to the weekend. I work outside of the home full time Mon-Fri. My husband works MOST weekends outside of the home since he is a retail store manager. I D-R-E-A-D weekends when DH his working, like this weekend. I feel so guilty b/c I feel like I should be looking forward to all of the time I get to be with my DS alone, but I don't. I get more R&R at work, with the adults..... Does this make me a TERRIBLE mommy? I feel so guilty, but it's the truth......... Advice?

Re: Am I a Terrible Mommy?
youre not a terrible mommy at all. we ALL have those feelings at one time or another.
Maybe you can schedule a few things into your weekends, so that you have something to do, the baby can interact with other babies (library/bookstore activities, local playgroups?)
breaking up the days will make them fly by and not so hard.

Re: Am I a Terrible Mommy?
I sometimes feel like that also. I constantly have to entertain DD and its tiring. I always try to get out for a few hours. It makes the day go by faster. Its even harder when your DH isnt home.
You arent a terrible mom!!!!

Re: Am I a Terrible Mommy?
Thank you so much. It's nice to know I'm not the only one with these feelings..... My DS is my WORLD so when these feelings creep in I hate it!!!

Re: Am I a Terrible Mommy?
You are definately NOT a terrible mommy. It's tough to be the only one around all day for several days. Everyone needs a break.
I always say that I come to work to relax

Re: Am I a Terrible Mommy?
I mean it makes me feel normal that other mommies have the same feelings that I do sometimes....

Re: Am I a Terrible Mommy?
No you're not a terrible mommy.
I am a SAHM and what keeps me sane is gettng out of the house with DD - and other moms if possible. Try to sign up for some classes on the weekend and you will see they are fun and time flies!!!!!
