am i being hyper sensitive??
i posted yesterday, or the day before, that my boss had me translating (from english to spanish) investment/fund descriptions and 401(k) enrollment forms.
i just emailed him the finished work. he forwarded it to the client who asked for it.
here is the question/concern:
in the body of the email he thanked Liz XXX instead of Lizbeth XXX.
would that bother you??

Re: am i being hyper sensitive??
That wouldn't bother me. I try to sweat the small stuff.
I also have a very bad habit of abbreviating people's names. Only recently I became aware of it- and have made a conscious effort to stop. But I really mean no harm.

Re: am i being hyper sensitive??
As long as I was Liz/Lizbeth, no it probably wouldn't bother me. I would either correct him or have someone correct him for future.

Re: am i being hyper sensitive??
Nope-my last name when spoke "sounds" like a first name but is obviously not especially when written into my e-mail signature preceded by my first name. Yet people still call me by my last name "Hi, XXX

same here!! I'd be much more insulted with this kind of scenario, instead of shortening my first name.

Re: am i being hyper sensitive??
It wouldn't really bug me, I have grown up with people reading my name as "Jeanie" instead of Jeannine. I would just tell him next time I see him that I prefer to go by "lizbeth"

Would not bother me. I'm very used to being confused with other people, so when it's an important issue, I'll correct them.
