Am I being paranoid taking him to the doctor?

Am I being paranoid taking him to the doctor?
DS has been running a fever since yesterday afternoon. 101.5 was the highest. Gave him Tylenol last night.
He is still eating normally, drinking water, wet and poopy diapers per usual.
however, he does have a rash on his chest, looks like tiny red pimply dots. He is coughing, but only when he is laying down. No runny nose, or congestion. Acting pretty normal, except a little clingier than usual.
Am I being paranoid taking him to the doctor?? The fever/rash thing scares me. He is 15 months old. Just had a well check last thursday and everything was good.

not paranoid at all.....sounds like it could be a virus.
Also, an ear infection can crop up in an hour......I've had that happen many times right after leaving the doctor.
Trust your instincts, they won't hold it against you.......

I would take him for the fever. Maybe he is cutting teeth.

Thank you. DH actually thinks he probably caught something from his doctor's office!

With the rash, sounds like it could be roseola....DS had it and its no big deal. Definitely take him just in case.
