Am I crazy? UPDATE
I really want to change my gym to Equinox for $150 a month   
I currently belong to NYSC for 85 a month...but equinox is SOOO much nicer.
Am I crazy to spend that. I go at leasat 4-5 times a week and have for years. I am single in NYC...so the gym is a big part of my sanity!

I am so excited...this is exactly what I need to to look forward to after the marathon. Just the fact that there is no time limit on the cardio machines makes it worth it.

I used to be a member of Equinox-- I loved it. I am no longer a member because I moved and there isn't one near me-- but, it's a fabulous gym!

I don't think it is crazy at all. If you can afford it and know that you will go, than I think it is great. I used to pay for membership and never go. That is crazy!

I can definitely afford it...however I do have some debt Im paying of on my CC. I think that's why i feel the guilt.

Hon, I think if the gym is a big part of your life and your happiness then I think it is worth it to go where you like..Is there a way you can try it out to see if its doable while still trying to pay your bills?? Like a shorter term contract??

If you can afford it and you will definitely use it, why not? It is a good investment for your health and well being. Cheaper than therapy to de-stress

Honestly, i don't know TOO much about you, but I know the gym is a huge part of your life.
If you really don't spend much on other things for yourself, I don't see anything wrong with spending the extra $65/month.
Hey, its a better gym, maybe you'll meet some better MEN!!!

I belong to equinox because my work pays for it - but I think about what I will do when I dont work here anymore. I would like to keep it because i cant imagine going back to NYSC. I think that you should do it - you work out so much, and equinox is just so much nicer.

Beth you are so right...I can't say that thought hasn't entered my mind!
I can pay much more than my minimums on my CC's. I can actually pay them off...I just don't want to part with cash.
I appreciate all your responses...I know there is no right or wrong...just trying to justify!!

it's a different world!
if you were going to join and not go- then it would be silly- but it's $37.50 a week- and in the city that is nothing!

Some health insurance companies will refund part or all of gym memberships, maybe you can look into that, then it wouldn't be an increase at all!!
