Am I jumping the gun?
Hi, I was hoping someone could let me know their thoughts on this. I'm 35, inching towards 36, and ttc. I did get pregnant a few months back and unfortunately had a m/c at 8 weeks. So here I am again, starting all over. My cycles are so messed up, I have no idea if I'm ovulating, the opks all tell me something different. At the suggestion of a friend, I made an appt to see an RE. My DH thinks I'm being impatient since he feels I did get pg already. My issues is that I'm not exactly in my 20's, I have not really been tested for ovulation, good eggs, etc...he was tested back in May, ironically the week I conceived! Anyway, my question is, should I keep my appt this month to see an RE or will they be of no help to me? I am seeing Dr. Pena of East Coast Fertility. I just want to have the best chance of conceiving and holding a pregnancy and it's so draining to me right now.
Thanks in advance and I wish you all the best of luck!!

Re: Am I jumping the gun?
How long were you TTC before you got PG a few months back? A good rule of thumb is to wait 6 months after the age of 35 before seeing an RE. But if you feel like you're all messed up and you getting PG a few months ago was a "fluke" I would definitely go. You don't want to waste any more time if you don't have to.
Sorry for your loss

Re: Am I jumping the gun?
I would definitelyl go! I got pregnant last December, on the pill and didn't know it, until end of January when I found out, then it turned out to be an ectopic, I was heartbroken. After a few months of trying (at 39) I made the appt with the RE. Turns out I have luteal phase defect and DH has/had a quantity issue, which now seems to be resolved with acupuncture & herbs.
I wish I had not waited a few months to go.
GO! You won't regret it!

About 6 mos. I was off bcp since May of 2006, but was training for a marathon and was not "trying hard"....so it was about 6 months of focusing....
