Am I the only one not that into Halloween?
I can't say I HATE Halloween (I've got nothing against pumpkins and I love giving out candy to the trick-or-treaters)... but I've never really loved it (or liked it all that much).
Even as a kid, I hated having to put on a costume and thought it was rather weird to ring doorbells and expect people to give me candy. You'd think as a kid that would be awesome, but it was so weird to me.
I avoid anywhere I'd have to wear a costume, too.
I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade. I love lots of things other people aren't that into.  I was just wondering if I was a lonely Halloween Jack-o-Grinch, or if anyone else wasn't a big fan of it either.
BTW, I love seeing other people's costumes and reading up on the party ideas - I'm not complaining about that at all... People just seem to find it strange that I've never really liked Halloween at all...

I'm not into it at all! Ever since my Dad passed away a few days before Halloween 9 years ago I can't stand it!

nope, I just invited one of my friends to a halloween party and she told me she wasnt going to 'waste' money on a costume and that she really doesnt like halloween at all.

Aw, I'm sorry. I'd go to a Halloween party, but I'd feel weird *having* to wear a costume. I'm not that big of a grinch. Just self-conscious about the costumes. I hate wearing them!

she didnt care. i think she is in a cranky mood today!

Im not into it...but if there is a party I usually go just to spend time with friends...but I hate dressing up...I find it very stressful!

DH isn't into it, either. His mother raised him and brother not to believe in Halloween. She felt that parents shouldn't allow their kids to go begging door to door for candy (yet she gives out candy). They never dressed up or decorated.
Complete opposite of my family. We decorated and celebrated rain/snow/shine!

I don't have time for Halloween. I have school work and boxes waiting to be packed. I will have time for Christmas, although it does not snow where we are moving, I am still looking forward to it.

I loved it as a kid, even up until a few years ago I would dress up. But it's def lost the thrill, no one at my job dresses up so I feel funny doing it. I loved to go Trick or Treating and can't wait to have kids to do that with. But it's a scary world out there, so Halloween has gotten ruined from what I remember.

I, absolutely, despise Halloween. I never liked it when I was a child, either. I resent having to participate in it. If you don't, who knows what will happen to your house. I do, however, get a kick out of the little ones all dressed up. Except for that, they could ban this holiday for all I care.

im not that into it. i love taking my niece and nephews trick or treating and watching them get all dressed up, but thats about it. i love this time of year but not because of halloween...but because of the weather!

I never liked Halloween - I always felt stupid dressed up even as a kid. The candy didn't even entice me since I didn't really care for much of it.

i was never big on it but my dad passed away suddenly on Halloween 6 yrs ago and ever since I've tried really hard to associate with kids and fun so that i don't hate it when i have kids. this will be my first halloween with my own child and i'm dressing him/her up and giving out candy to the kids in my building to take my mind off of what i really associate the holiday with.

I like it for the fall decorations and candy - but I never dress up, haven't since I was a kid. My neighbors have a party every year and every year I never go in a costume. It's just not me I guess.

to you too! My kids were 9 and 7 when he passed and my oldest went on a rampage trying to scare me with her Scream mask! She was acting out big time I now turn the light out and stay in my bedroom!
ETA: I get drunk guys at my door Trick or Treating w/o their kids! One guy in the neighborhood always had a party and when I came around with my kids he came out of the bushes with his chainsaw and mask and chased me!
