Am I too late in the game?

So last night when I was telling my mom about Eddie and daycare that I posted about she suggested I find a nursery school in Kings Park/Smithtown/Commack that has mini days (roughly 9-3ish) or full day nursery school for two days/week and that she would pick him up after school until my DH and I got home.

She already watches him the other 3 days of the week so it was very nice of her to offer.

I would love to be able to do this. For him so he isnt spending 10 hours a day at daycare and for us, bc it would save us SO much money.

Do you think its too late in the game to find a nursery school with openings still? What has been your experience?

It can't hurt to try - I did this LY around this time for PreK for my DS, and ended up getting an opening bacause someone dropped out of the program. Good Luck!

My DS is just turned 3 and is starting at the pumpkin patch in Commack in Sept. I dont know what their availability is, but ive heard great things about them. a few women here have brought their kids & the times that i have been there, i like it. The kids have to be potty trained, its not a daycare, its a pre-school.

Do you know what times their programs run? I was just about to google them actually!

He is potty trained.

I'm not in the area but GOOD LUCK, I truly hope this works out for you!!!! You never know there could be an opening - people move, change jobs, lose jobs (unfortunately) so maybe there will be a way to work this out!!!! Your mom is awesome for offering this!!!

I don't think you will have a hard time finding openings, I think it is going to be harder to find full day programs for 3's. I also think 9-3 will be considered a full day.
