I like Carly and I think a lot of people are too hard on her because of the fact that she had an album before. But there have been many contestants before her who have had experience. I don't consider her a pro anymore than someone like Taylor or Melinda who had tons of experience. Taylor even had 2 independent albums before he won AI and he performed with many famous people. I think if people didn't know about her album that sold 400 copies they would like her a lot more.

I have been agreeing with Simon non-stop tonight. I love the Beatles more than ANYTHING...literally. Last week I gave them a pass...this week - DISASTER. You really shouldn't go wrong with their songs- they're GREAT songs and they have gazillions to choose from.
The problem here- song choice. Michael Johns should never have done Day in the Life. WHYYY didn't he choose the Joe Cocker version of "With a Little Help from my Friends"?
And yes, I agree with Simon- Carly was totally indulgent. DH thought it was great- but he didn't know the song. If you love the original, you'd probably realize how completely ridiculous and inappropriate her interpretation was.
Poor Brooke- she should have sung Blackbird instead.
I can't believe so far I liked Amanda the best! At least she was fun! David Cook was good but the talk box was ridiculous.

Oh geez, whyyyyy would you sing Yesterday?!?!?!
This episode is bringing the total Beatles/music snob out of me!
